Search for the country that interests you using a Web search engine. Each government has its own Web site, and some will offer you the option of reading in English, French or the country's native language.

Select a search engine that offers a Government category.

Click on Government, which will most likely feature a Statistics subcategory. This will give you access to statistics on your country as well as those foreign countries whose statistics interest you.

Contact the largest academic or government library near you. Ask the librarian whether it's a depository library for worldwide government statistics, and if it's not, ask him or her to suggest other sources you might use.

Call your local community library if you don't know of a major library near you.

Tips & Warnings
Most libraries will have numerous sources on your national government's statistics as well as those of foreign countries. For example, the United Nations Statistical Yearbook and the Europa Yearbook are generally standard in major libraries.

Where can I locate economic data that should be available from the U.S. Government. I am looking for trade deficits year by year, economic real growth, and gdp also year by year. Does anyone know where to find such data? -
