The SBC Cotton Bowl Classic is scheduled for New Year's Day 2005 in Dallas. This years game has the SEC East Division Champion, Tennessee, matching up against the 20th ranked Aggies from Texas A & M. General tickets sold through the SBC Cotton Bowl office are sold out. Fortunately, fans can still see the game by using StubHub, eBay, or a ticket broker.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Visit the official Web site of the SBC Cotton Bowl, http://www.swbellcottonbowl.com

  2. Step 2

Click on "Box Office," located along the left-hand column of navigation options. The site will display a seating chart, ticket information and a fan guide containing hotel and transportation information.

  3. Step 3

Call (888) 792-BOWL for ticket information. VIP seats are priced at $75; they are located at stadium gates 6, 7 and 8 for the Big 12 side and gates 1, 2, and 3 for the SEC side. Most of the tickets will be sold to fans and students of the schools represented at the game.

  4. Step 4

Call either the University of Tennessee ticket office (800) 332-8657 or the Texas A & M ticket office (888) 992-4443 to inquire about purchasing tickets.

  5. Step 5

Visit an independent ticket marketplace like StubHub to see a wide selection of tickets and prices for available for purchase. Season ticket holders who can't make the game post these tickets for sale. While you shouldn't expect to find a bargain on sites like these, you will be able to guarantee that you get a good seat.

  6. Step 6

Hunt for tickets on eBay. You can occasionally find great deals, but understand in advance how and when you will get your tickets before sending your money to someone you don't know.

  7. Step 7

Consider the multitude of ticket broker websites you can find by searching on Google, but make sure to only deal with reputable sellers.

  8. Step 8

Fly in desperation to the game and try to buy a ticket from a scalper in front of the stadium. Expect to pay top dollar and work to minimize your risk of fraud. If you wait till after the start of the game, ticket prices may drop but there may be no more tickets left to buy.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are a student or alumnus of the schools represented at the game, make sure to check your school office for more information about priority seats.
  • If you buy your tickets on the Internet make sure that you are dealing with a reputable vendor. Beware of counterfeit tickets and make sure you will receive your tickets before sending a stranger your money. An independent ticket marketplace like StubHub reduces risk by guaranteeing all transactions on their site.

on 11/22/2005 I've spent hours online buying sports tickets. I've paid way too much, and I've paid too little and have gotten burned. I use BuySellTix.com only now. They have the best bargains, and their reps have good tips, and won't sit you behind a column or pole like some will.
