Give her a weekend away with you - no kids.

  3. Step 3

Buy two tickets to a symphony concert, play or opera. Accompany her without complaining.

  8. Step 8

  10. Step 10

If you can afford it, buy her a car.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wives may consider gift certificates too impersonal. Unless it's a certificate for something specific - such as a week at a luxury spa - you'd be better off buying something else.
  • You can't go wrong with art, jewelry, clothes, a purse or chocolates.
  • If she's developing a new hobby such as golf or tennis, give her lessons or a new set of clubs or a racket.
  • Giving a makeover or exercise equipment is likely to give your wife the wrong message. Avoid these gifts unless she has expressed a desire for such things.

on 11/12/2008 If I had to guess I would say the rest of the comments are by men and the article is likely written by one too. Lingerie?!? Who's gift would that actually be? Make sure she actually likes the symphony, play, or opera. Otherwise you'll both be bored but she won't say because she won't hurt your feelings. And careful with with cooking lessons... imagine if your wife bought you a gym membership without you expressing interest first. And contrary to popular belief, you can go wrong with chocolates and roses. Roses are generic, how about a different arrangement. Chocolates aren't that great. Did your wife ever eat the whole box of chocolates by herself? Here's a tip. She wants something that speaks to HER interests. Good Luck (PS an incredible night in bed is NOT a present)

on 10/20/2008 Let her feel appreciated and a small gift can light up her world. Do not buy her anything electrical because most of the times, she is not interested. Buy her something intimate like lingerie nicely wrapped which will make her feel wonderful about herself, what more if it is a surprise gift

on 3/20/2008 It's the little things that matter most - reminding them year-round of your love is the best gift of all. It can be a simple post-it note or an unexpected gift. There are sites like www.remindyourlove.com and www.redenvelope.com that make this pretty easy...and they carry some of the items mentioned above...good luck. ...
