1. Make an album of your growing-up years. Include photos, letters and mementos from fun places you've been together.

2. Give her a gift certificate for a day at the spa.

3. Take a photograph of a place that is meaningful to both of you and have it framed.

4. Find an autographed copy of a book by her favorite author.

5. Buy her a year's membership to a museum, or splurge on a concert or theater series.

6. Give her movie rental coupons, car wash coupons or passes to the gym.

7. Take her to a photo studio for a glamour shot.

8. Give her a whale-watching trip, a hot-air balloon ride, a ticket to an amusement park or a hot seat at an upcoming concert.

9. Buy dinner for two at the best restaurant you can afford.

10. Buy a plush robe and add an aromatherapy candle for serenity or peace.

11. Buy her flowers and balloons.

• Unless you know what fragrance she wears, it's best not to gamble on perfume.
• If she collects something, add to the collection.
• Jewelry, perfume and clothes are always good choices.
• Make a gift basket full of her favorite gourmet foods and beverages.
