Rate: (2 Ratings)

Many merchants are finding that they no longer need a store to sell their products. One way you can sell merchandise through the Internet is by using online classifieds.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Medium-resolution Scanners
  • Internet Access

Step1
Check out various online classified-ad sites, considering whether you want to post your merchandise on a general-interest site or on one that specializes in certain products (computers, golf equipment or used cars, for example).
Step2
Register with a site that posts classified ads. Registration and online ad posting are usually free.
Step3
Submit a listing of your product under the appropriate category. Include price, quantity, condition, age, a picture (if desired) and any other relevant details.
Step4
Decide whether you want to pay a fee to highlight your ad using color, bold text, graphics or other devices.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check Web site policy on how long an ad will be posted. Some sites will allow you to choose how long an ad is posted, while others will automatically delete postings after a certain time period.
  • Do not place duplicate or false ads.
