on 3/26/2006 Bring duct tape. Duct tape is awesome on blisters, and there are a variety of other camping/outdoors uses for it too. Patch hole in canoe, wrap a sprained ankle or wrist, patch a hole in a tent, tape your keys or cell phone securely, remove splinters. It's a hiking/camping must have!

on 11/22/2005 Watch out for mosquitoes when hiking in the North. They come in large groups, and will stalk you for the rest of the day. Take along plenty of bug spray.

on 11/22/2005 Along with the important water, sunscreen, hat and loose clothing, take along your life line: the cell phone. If you get in trouble, you can call for help. Also, a small first-aid kit and extra power bars for reserve.
