How to Get Driving Directions Online

If you know your destination's street address, a route can be planned for you online.

1. Go to a mapping site like mapquest.com or maps.yahoo.com.

2. Click on "Get Directions" or "Driving Directions."

3. Type in your destination and your point of origin, where indicated.

4. Hit the Enter key.

5. Print out the resulting route map.

Tips & Warnings

• The more specific information you have about your destination, the better.
• If you don't know your destination's exact address, look at another map and try to locate a large intersection, and then get a route drawn to there. You'll have to navigate the rest of the way yourself.
• Online routes don't always take into account rush hours, recent construction or the quality of the roads.
