Step 1
Set the mood by playing some soft, romantic music. Classical music is usually a safe bet, as are jazz and soul.
-
Step 2
Fill the room with a dramatic array of flowers to add visual interest as well as inexpensive elegance.
-
Step 3
Light the room with either bright, slow-burning candles or, if possible, the glow from a fireplace to add a warm, intimate tone to the evening.
-
Step 4
Plan and prepare a simple yet elegant meal. Try to find out beforehand which foods your date particularly enjoys and serve them.
-
Step 5
Include classic romantic fare, such as Champagne and strawberries.
-
Step 6
Use your best china and flatware and select table linens and napkins in soft and sumptuous fabrics. If chosen well, these items can be purchased for little money but appear stylish and sophisticated, giving your date the impression that you've gone all out for the occasion.
-
Step 1
Coordinate your plans with seasonal or natural events such as a sunset, a full moon or the turning of the leaves during the fall.
-
Step 2
Plan and prepare a simple yet elegant meal. If possible, include your date's favorite foods. Don't forget the wine or Champagne.
-
Step 3
Pack the meal and the necessary utensils in a picnic basket. Again, use the best china and flatware you have.
-
Step 4
Bring along a picnic blanket as well as a big, soft blanket for warmth, should the night turn cold.
-
Step 5
Build a fire if your location allows, or bring along some candles or torches to provide light and warmth. Citronella candles will be especially handy for warding off insects.

on 11/22/2005 first find a lake. then find a boat. once you have found the lake and boat you can make a picnic out of it. nothing is nicer than a sunset in a small boat. while there sit and watch the stars come out. eat drink and be merry.

on 11/22/2005 Take her to one of the best natural places, when you find the best spot, kneel down and propose. If it's the first time, then sing a song just for her. I did the same thing and it worked out well. She says that was the most romantic day she ever had.

on 11/22/2005 Romance isn't always just candles and music. Surprise him by letting him make all the decisions for a weekend. Let him choose the movie you watch (rent a movie if you can't go out), what he wants for dinner, and even what he wants you to wear. When your focus is wholly on him, it's easy to do whatever he wants. He will never forget "his" weekend, and it may rekindle the romance in him.

on 11/22/2005 For music, your best bet is to lay off the Coltrane. Stick more with Miles Davis - "Kind of Blue" is a cool jazz classic, but the compilation album "Love Songs" (also available on Columbia Records) is great background music. And if horns aren't your thing, the Bill Evans Trio makes a great date soundtrack with "Live at the Village Vanguard" and "Waltz for Debby."
