Tell your audience that you are going to make a quarter disappear right before their eyes.
Step2
Put a quarter down on a table, then place a salt shaker on top of it so that the bottom of the shaker completely covers the quarter.
Step3
Cover the salt shaker with a handkerchief.
Step4
Say some magic words (or sprinkle some imaginary fairy dust) over the handkerchief and salt shaker.
Step5
Keeping the salt shaker covered, lift the handkerchief and salt shaker off the quarter.
Step6
Express amazement that the quarter is still there. While doing so, move the handkerchief and salt shaker toward you, allowing the salt shaker to drop into your lap.
Step7
Maintain the handkerchief's shape with your hand as though the salt shaker is still there. The audience should be too focused on the quarter to notice.
Step8
Move the handkerchief (which maintains the salt-shaker shape) back over the quarter.
Step9
Slam the handkerchief down with your free hand, revealing it to be empty. As you do so, say, "Oh, well. I'll just make the salt shaker disappear instead."
Tips & Warnings
Practice this trick several times before performing it in front of an audience.
One of the most important rules of magic is to never reveal how a trick is performed. If you do, your audience will be disappointed - and everyone you know will start doing your trick.

Place a tape loop on the bottom of the shaker. Tell them you're going to push the coin thru the table. Do as stated (show coin gone) and tell them you'll bring it back. Now hit it and say you hit it too hard. Now bring out the shaker from under the table.

You can also use a cup for this trick. Make sure you use a paper napkin so you can make the shape of the object a whole lot easier. And remember, practice makes perfect.
