Inhale eucalyptus oil by putting five drops in a hot bath or a cup of water.
Step8
Start with broth (chicken or vegetable) and dry crackers once you can tolerate food.
Step9
Dissolve a zinc lozenge under your tongue every two hours, not only are these a great immunostimulant, they will also make your throat feel better.

Tips & Warnings

  • The flu is caused by a virus and cannot be "cured" with antibiotics. But if you are still sick ten days after its onset, or if you became very sick very quickly, you should see a doctor. It's possible to have a bacterial infection along with a viral one, or to have an extremely virulent case of the flu.
  • Be sure to stay hydrated, as vomiting and diarrhea can lead to dehydration. If symptoms persist or if you have specific medical conditions or concerns, we recommend you contact a physician. This information is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.

on 12/19/2005 When you are going back to eating solids after the flu, try Jello. It is mellow and easier to digest than regular food. It also contains electrolytes.

on 1/5/2006 The best herb that I have used in fighting a flu is Andogrphis paniculata. This herb is widely used in China, India and other Asian nations, and even in Scandinavia. Western medicines which I used to take when I have a flu make me feel drowsy and have other side effects. A. paniculata is most effective if you take it on the onset of a flu. I used to take tablets which are made out of the powdered whole plant. Normally I take 6 tablets 3 to 4 times a day. Taking 4 tablets before sleep prevents flu as well. This herb is widely used to treat gastro-intestinal diseases, infection of the urinary tract, jaundice, mumps and infection of the lungs, eyes, etc. You can find lots of information online.

on 11/22/2005 When I start to get the flu, a sore throat or a cold, I generously spray my throat with Chloraseptic sore throat spray (or generic brand) every hour until the symptoms are gone -usually eight to twelve hours. This doesn't work unless treatment is started at the very first sign of symptoms. I've been able to be free of a sore throat, colds and the flu for the past three years using this method.

on 11/22/2005 Try placing a cold cloth on the back of your neck. That is the body's thermostat, and people who work in the hot sun use that spot to lower their body temperature. I learned that trick flagging on a construction site, then tried it the next time I was sick and it worked.
