on 7/30/2008 If you have a dog, don't assume that your neighbor love's your dog as much as you do.Letting your dog wander freely in the neighborhood is not a very nice or neighborly thing to do. It's dangerous for your pet as well as an annoyance to your neighbor. Keep your pet on a leash or fence in your backyard because no one wants to step in your dog's mess-especially when it's on their property.

on 7/30/2008 If your neighbor has a pool please don't think it's ok to invite yourself for a swim. If your neighbor wants you to come over he will certainly pick up the phone and invite you.(Inviting yourself anywhere is bad manners and puts the other person in a very awkward position.) If your neighbor DOES invite you, please be sure to bring the towel's that you need and your own refreshments or snacks. Also, remember to teach your children not to badger the pool-owner's children about swimming in their pool. Lastly,it is very inapropriate for an adult to ask a child if they can swim in the child's pool-the pool does not belong to the child therefore, the child should not be asked an adult question (which he has no authority to answer.)
