These individuals are constantly on the go, forcing themselves to work harder, setting higher goals for themselves and pressuring themselves and those around them to reach new heights. For these people, staying calm and reducing stress is a very difficult proposition.

      Decide for yourself that you are going to start enjoying life rather than being stressed. This takes as much dedication as you exude for any other aspect of your life. You need to set goals for yourself to enjoy your life more.

      Force yourself to take vacations. Vacations mean no cell phones, laptops or pagers. Taking time away from the rigor of the every day grind is crucial to becoming calm and enjoying your life. Spend your vacation with your family if you can to reconnect with them and create some special moments.

      Get a full night's sleep every night. Research shows that people who sleep as much as they need each night truly are less stressed and have lower blood pressure than those who don't get enough sleep.

      Exercise each day. Just as you need to force yourself to take vacations, your daily vacation should be your exercise routine. Use this time to be by yourself. Your daily exercise should be a chance for you to be happy and enjoy being alive.

      Be nice to those around you and do things they like doing. If you are the type who is stressed often, chances are that you also are the one who usually decides what activities are done by those closest to you. Listen to what they have to say and be nice to them. This will help you to be more calm and less stressed.
