1
Go to a media conversion site such as Media Converter and enter the full URL of the video you want to get. A URL is the address you see in the navigation bar above the web page. Follow the steps that it provides and answer the data. Generally, it will ask you for the duration, offset and file type.

2
Input a name in the box asking for the file name, or when you're done downloading it, click it, then wait two seconds and click it again. Type in the name you want to give it and press "Enter" or "Return." In the converter, you can use only lowercase a through z, uppercase A through Z, and numbers 0 through 9. The dash and underscore signs (- _) are also allowed in the name.

Remember to select the best settings for your iPod when you convert the YouTube video. iPods have tiny screens, great audio capability and low graphics settings. A good option is to set the resolution to 320x240 and the bit-rate to 32kbps.

Pay attention to the details in the converter; some little changes that can make all the difference are off-set and the type of file you want to play. Generally, songs are in MP3 format, but some may be WAV or OGG. The codec is the kind of style you want for video. For example, it might be able to play on a different device or set at a different resolution if you change this.
