How to Film Videos and put Them on YouTube
These days it seems everyone has a video on YouTube. Some videos are educational, some are sales or news oriented and some are just undisguised attempts to get noticed. Whatever your motivation, if you want to film a video and post it to YouTube there are some things to keep in mind in order to post the best video possible within YouTube's parameters.

1
Create a YouTube account if you haven't already.
-
2
Plan out the video. You don't have to script it word for word but YouTube has a 100-megabyte file size limit and a length limit of 10 minutes. Planning the video allows you to get everything in that want and keeps the video within YouTube's parameters.
-
-
3
Film the video. Use any device that interfaces with a computer, including a video camera or a cell phone.
-
4
Download the video to the computer and use a movie editing program, such as Windows Movie Maker or iMovie to edit the film. Editing isn't strictly necessary but it gives the video a tighter, more polished look than simply uploading raw footage. Movie editing software also allows you to save the video in formats that work with YouTube.
-
5
Save the video in a YouTube compatible format. YouTube accepts MPG, MOV, QuickTime and Windows AVI file formats. To optimize the viewing quality of the video, YouTube recommends saving the video to MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at 640x480 resolution, a frame rate of 30 frames per second and MP3 audio.

Log in to your YouTube account and use YouTube Uploader to upload the video to your YouTube page. Select the "Upload" link located in the upper right corner of any YouTube screen. Click the "Use Multi-Video Uploader" button to be redirected to the install page. Click "OK" and then select the "Install Windows Uploader" link.
-
7
Save the "YouTubeUploaderSetup.exe" file to the hard drive and open it to install. YouTube redirects you to the Multi-Video Upload page.
-
8
Select "Add Video to Upload" from the Multi-Video Upload page and choose a video from the hard drive. Click to confirm the video file size is less than one gigabyte and select "Upload Videos."
-
9
Click "Upload Videos" and the video uploads to YouTube. Check the "My Videos" page in your account to verify that the video is listed and the upload was successful.
