Getting ready and being on time can be a problem for even the most responsible adults. But teens seem to have an even harder time. Developing a consistent morning routine will guide teens for the rest of their life. Learning a few tricks can help.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Set more than one alarm clock. Set one alarm for 20 minutes before you need to get up and another one for the time you need to get up. Instead of just hitting the snooze button, the second alarm cues you to get up. A good trick for teens developing a morning routine is to place the second alarm across the room from the bed.
Step2
Organize. Place all items you'll need to take with you by the door so you can grab them on your way out. Make sure to find all important items the night before such as keys and your cell phone. Pick out your clothes the night before and lay them out.
Step3
Choose a time to get up every morning and always get up at that time. Even if you do not always need to get up at the time you choose every morning, a consistent time helps teens keep a consistent morning routine.
Step4
Figure out how much time everything takes. Time yourself for a few mornings to get an idea. When deciding how early you need to get up, add in some extra time for any mishaps which might occur.
Step5
Use a list. Create a list of everything you need during your morning routine in the most efficient order you can come up with.
Step6
Clock your routine. Timing the morning routine will make getting ready a challenge for teens. This will make getting ready quickly more fun.
