Things You'll Need:
- Concealer
- Cosmetic wedge sponge
- Cotton-tip swabs
-
Step 1
Apply concealer over foundation makeup. Use a cosmetic sponge for large areas and dot on your skin sparingly. Gently tap and pat the sponge only where needed. Try using a damp sponge for the sheerest coverage.
-
Step 2
Hide a blemish with concealer by allowing your foundation makeup to dry and gently buffing it to provide an even surface. Dab a bit of concealer directly on the blemish with a cotton-tip swab. Allow it to dry, buff and repeat if necessary. Take care not to handle the blemish too much or it may swell.
-
Step 3
Offset unwanted color tones in your skin with color-correcting concealer. For dark under eye circles, yellow concealer will counter the blue tones. Alternately, for red blemish outbreaks or reddish scars, green color-correcting concealer will hide the problem.
-
Step 4
Pat the inside corner of your eye with concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone to create an alert and youthful look. Concentrate on the corners of the eyes and down the sides of the nose. Lightening this area flatters any face shape.
-
Step 5
Brush on powered concealer for quick touch-ups away from home. Choose a tone that is one shade lighter than your face and tap excess powder from the tip before gently patting the feather-soft bristles on the surface of a blemish or around the base curves of your nose to reduce shine.
