Instructions

1
Decide how long you want your hat rack to be and how much room you need between each protrusion to hold your hats without crushing them or changing their shape.
-
2
Cut a rectangular length of wood as long and as wide as you want your hat rack to be. For more than one level of protrusions to hold more hats, cut a wider rectangle.
-
-
3
Drill evenly-spaced holes through the back of your hat rack to fit the protrusions you chose. You can use dowels, pegs or decorative doorknobs.
-
4
Sand all of your wood pieces and wipe away the dust with a tack cloth. Stain or paint it to match your decor.
-
5
Attach hanging hardware to the back of the hat rack and attach it to the wall.

Tips & Warnings
Alternate the holes so the hats hang offset from each other if you want to create a hat rack capable of hanging more than a single row of hats.
