Step 1
Measure the location where you want to hang your wall-mounted bookshelf. Make sure you allow enough room for two tiers.
-
Step 2
Cut a piece of wood to provide the backing for your bookshelf as tall and wide as you want the final piece to be.
-
Step 3
Make 2 equally-sized side pieces as deep and as tall as you want the wall mounted bookshelf to be.
-
Step 4
Create 2 rectangular pieces of wood to form the actual shelves.
-
Step 5
Attach the bottom shelf to the back piece of your shelving unit with wood screws, lining up the bottom of the shelf with the bottom of the back for a level surface.
-
Step 6
Put the next shelf into place, halfway between the lower shelf and the top of your back piece. Secure the side pieces into place and cover your screws with wood putty.
-
Step 7
Sand your wall mounted bookshelf and paint or stain it to match your decor. Hang your bookshelf by attaching it to a stud or using wall anchors for strength.
