How to Get Tire and Wheel Package Deals
So many times, we wait until we have a flat tire to buy a new tire. If we could just plan a little better and purchase new tires and wheels all together, then we would be able to work with dealers and negotiate a better deal. Many places offer tire and wheel package deals upfront.

1
Rotate your tires every time you get an oil change so that the tires will wear out at just about the same time. Check your tire treads to see the wear on the tires, and also look at your mileage to determine if you need new tires.

2
Watch for specials. Keep an eye on the tire ads for a year or so to gauge what time of year they are at their best. Every industry has a slump time and the tire and wheel industry is no different. Depending on the weather where you live, it will probably be December or January when you can get the best offers.

Upgrade your vehicle with a new set of wheels. While many people keep the same factory issue wheels for the life of their car, they spend money on other accessories to keep it looking good. Wheels can make a big difference in how the car looks and can be a good investment for resale value.

4
Compare the cost of shipping versus the cost of sales tax if you buy online. If you have a mechanic or local tire shop who can install the tires and wheels for you at a lower price, then it may be cheaper to buy online. If you want convenience, then going into a shop like Discount Tire or Pep Boys and having it installed is quicker, but may be more expensive.

5
Ask for a deal if one is not advertised. Even if you get a good package deal for wheels and tires, ask for free balancing and mounting. You are making a big purchase and often will get more included in the price if only you ask. Act like you might go somewhere else if they refuse.
