How to Delete Email Addresses From a BlackBerry

One more thing to love about your BlackBerry is its ability to allow you to stay connected to the world. You can send and receive email no matter where you are once you're set up for email. To avoid clutter, though, you should keep your contact list current. One way is to delete email addresses that you no longer need.

Instructions

    • 1

Delete an email address directly from your BlackBerry by selecting "Setup Internet Email." If you click on "email accounts," you can choose the address you want to delete. Choose "Delete."

    • 2

Go to your carrier's BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) page to delete email addresses. The BlackBerry website can often link you, but carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile have easy-to-find links for BIS on their websites too.

    • 3

Log in to the carrier BIS account and find the the address you want to delete. Make certain it's highlighted, then click on the trashcan icon to the right to delete that address.

    • 4

Make certain that the email address disappears from both your BlackBerry and your carrier mailbox. Some people experience problems with the email address remaining in one or the other. If you're using Microsoft Exchange, use BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) for better results.

    • 5

Get rid of an address through BES by choosing the option that allows you to delete from both the desktop and the handheld.

    • 6

Remove email accounts by logging into your account at the BIS website. Select your profile to access your list of email accounts. Put a check in the box next to the accounts you want to delete, and then click "Delete."
