How to Remove Liquify Preview Distortion in Photoshop

If you are liquifying an image in Adobe Photoshop CS3, you may find that you want to go back and start with your beginning image. An easy way to do this is to use the "Restore All" command in the Liquify window.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3

Step1
Start Adobe Photoshop CS3 and open a document from your files that contains an image that you want to liquify and then remove the preview distortion.
Step2
Click to select the layer from the Layers palette that contains the image that you want to liquify and then reconstruct to remove the distortions.
Step3
Select "Liquify" from the Filter menu to open the Liquify window.
Step4
Change the settings in the "Tool Options" and "Mask Options" sections on the right side of the Liquify dialog box to change the liquifying properties of the chosen image. You can see the distortions being applied in the large preview window on the left side of the Liquify window.
Step5
Locate the "Reconstruct Options" section on the right side center of the Liquify window.
Step6
Choose "Revert" from the "Mode" drop-down list in the "Reconstruct Options" section. Click the "Restore All" button under the drop-down list to restore all of the original settings. All of the liquify distortions will immediately disappear from the preview window to the left.
Step7
Click the "Ok" button to close the Liquify window and return your Adobe Photoshop CS3 document.
