Facial and body scrubs deep clean skin and leave you feeling refreshed. A sugar scrub cleans dirt from pores and enhances your face's natural beauty. This sugar scrub is similar to those sold in stores.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Small bowl
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Spoon
  • Essential oils
  • Jar or storage container
  • Washcloth or loofah
  1. Step 1

Pour the sugar into a small bowl. Use the storage container for this if you want to keep the amount of dirty dishes to a minimum.

  2. Step 2

Add the olive oil slowly, stirring as you pour. Mix the sugar and olive oil thoroughly.

  3. Step 3

Drop 2 to 3 drops of essential oil into the scrub. Peppermint and orange oils make you feel energized. Lavender and sandalwood leave you feeling relaxed.

  4. Step 4

Pour the sugary mix into the jar or storage container. Secure a lid onto the container. If the lid is left open it attracts ants and other insects.

  5. Step 5

Shake the jar or container before using the sugar scrub. Apply a small amount of scrub to a washcloth or loofah. Rub the scrub onto your skin in small circles. Allow the scrub to sit on the skin for 3 to 5 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.

  6. Step 6

Rinse out the bathtub or sink after using a sugar scrub. If the residue of the scrub is left to sit, insects will be attracted to it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to the scrub as an extra toner.
