How to Make a Pasta Necklace

Here's a craft that will keep your children entertained. They can make this pasta necklace with only few materials and some paint. Once the colors dries, your children can add designs with markers, and then wear their one of a kind jewelry.

Things You'll Need

• Newspaper
• Tape
• Smock
• Yarn or string
• Scissors
• Ziti
• Pinwheel pasta
• Paints
• Paintbrush
• Markers

Instructions

1. Lay newspaper across your entire table and tape it down to protect the surface. Dress your children in smocks or old clothes that you won't mind getting paint on.

2. Cut 16 inches of yarn or string for each child.

3. Pour ziti into one bowl and pinwheel pasta pieces into another. Place both bowls within reach of the children.

4. Use twenty pieces of ziti and one pinwheel per necklace. Paint the pasta pieces various colors and set aside to dry.

5. Draw designs with the markers on the ziti once they're completely dry.

6. String ten pieces of ziti onto the string or yarn. Then add the pinwheel and the remainder of the ziti so that the pinwheel becomes the pendant of the necklace. Tie the ends together in a double knot and wear the necklace.
