Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Ride your horse around the show area and grounds when you arrive at the event. Movement will help your horse from getting frightened and will keep the animal's mind occupied.

  2. Step 2

Introduce your horse to any objects that you think might effect his mood before you enter the arena. Let them become familiar with the objects so they do not freak out later.

  3. Step 3

Spend time with your horse as much as possible in the stall. Make them feel at peace and comb their mane. Keep comforting them throughout your arrival so they do not get scared.

  4. Step 4

Allow your horse to do the smallest of jumps on schooling day. This activity will bring her confidence up and make her feel ready for more challenges. Getting over the smallest hurdles will make her feel relaxed with the experience.

  5. Step 5

Allow your trainer to take over if your horse is getting too scared of the event. They will be a stronger influence on the horse and will be able to manage the horses fear.
