How to Make a Toy For a Small Dog
Dog toys may keep your pet from chewing your furniture and shoes, and they can also keep your dog entertained while giving him a healthy workout with a vigorous round of "go fetch." You can make a toy for your puppy in minutes using fleece squares
Things You'll Need
- Two fleece squares
- Scissors
- Thread
- Needle or sewing maching
- Fiberfill
- Marker

1
Cut 2 fleece squares 12 inches by 12 inches. Place them together, fleece side out.
-
2
Pull the fleece away to expose the fabric base. Measure 3 inches inward from each side. Mark with a dot. Connect the measurements to draw a 6-inch by 6-inch square in the center of the fabric.
-
-
3
Sew three sides of the center square to form a pocket. Stuff with fiberfill, and then sew the final side to enclose the square completely.
-
4
Cut fringe all the way around the center pillow by cutting ¾-inch strips from the outer fabric edge inward-stopping ½ inch before you reach the pillow seams.
-
5
Knot each piece of fringe tightly at the base and at the end. If desired, make random knots in the center as well.
-
6
Shake the fringed pillow toy in front of your dog to introduce him to his new toy. Throw the toy to start a round of fetch.

Tips & Warnings
Instead of stuffing the dog toy with fiberfill, you can use old rags.
