Mouse pads come in all shapes and sizes, from simple squares all the way up to fancy ergonomic designs. You don't have to spend a lot of money or even leave the house to make your own mouse pad. You can even match your decor by using your wallpaper as part of your project.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wallpaper
  • Waxed paper or clear transparency sheet
  • Packing tape
  1. Step 1

Decide what size you want to make your mouse pad. Keep in mind that some devices are highly responsive, so you may not need a large mousing surface.

  2. Step 2

Cut your sheet of wallpaper slightly smaller than your desired finished size.

  3. Step 3

Trim your wax paper or transparency sheet to the size you've chosen for your mouse pad. It may help to lay your wax paper over the wallpaper and use that as a guide to trim. Just remember to leave it a little larger than the wallpaper.

  4. Step 4

Clean off the space where you want to put your mouse pad. Make sure it's free of any debris, since this can shorten the life of your mouse pad.

  5. Step 5

Place your sheet of wallpaper flat, then cover with your sheet of waxed paper.

  6. Step 6

Smooth well and tape down the edges of your waxed paper using a strong packing tape. Be sure to tape your mouse pad as flat against the desk surface as possible to prevent rips or tears later.
