How to Make Orange Ooze Cupcakes for Halloween

They may look like perfectly normal cupcakes, but one taste of a yummy orange ooze cupcake will prove otherwise. Not only is the flavor extraordinary, but the orange ooze that escapes with each bite makes them perfect Halloween treats.

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 muffin tins
  • Paper muffin liners
  • Electric mixer
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/3 cups white sugar
  • 1 large package cream cheese, softened
  • Orange food coloring
  • 1 small bag of white chocolate chips
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered cocoa
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 2 tsp. almond extract
  1. Step 1

    Line the muffin tins with paper muffin cups, and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Step 2

    Use an electric mixer to combine 1 large egg, 2 cups sugar and 1 large package of softened cream cheese, beating until the mixture is creamy. Stir in a few drops of orange food coloring. Add the 1 small package of white chocolate chips and set the mixture aside. This is the orange ooze filling.

  3. Step 3

    Place 1/3 cup sugar, 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup powdered cocoa, 2 tsp. baking soda and 1/2 tsp. salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir thoroughly.

  4. Step 4

    Combine the 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar, 2 cups water, 2 cups canola oil and 2 tsp. almond extract in a separate bowl. Add the mixture to the dry ingredients, and stir to mix.

  5. Step 5

    Fill each cupcake half way. Put 1 tsp. of orange ooze filling in the center of each one.

  6. Step 6

    Bake the cupcakes until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean, about 25 minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Frost the tops of the orange ooze cupcakes with orange frosting, if desired.
