How to Do a Frontside 180 No Comply on a Skateboard

This freestyle skateboarding trick gained popularity during the 1980s. It has also been called a step hop as well as a no-handed boneless. It's a great trick to work into the footwork portion of a freestyle program.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Slide your foot up to the board's nose as you roll forward. Let your heel hang slightly off the skateboard while you do this. Position your back foot sideways on the tail of the skateboard. The back foot's heel should also hang somewhat off the board.
Step2
Step into the "no comply." The basic no comply is where you step off the board for a second with your front foot and jump up while you pop the board up with your back foot to get air and then jump on the board again. Sounds simple, but it does take practice. It can be done on flat ground or stepping over parking blocks or curbs.
Step3
Pop up the board's tail with your back foot while at the same time giving it a little shove forward to start the board moving into a 180. Watch the nose because it comes very close to your inner thigh during the rotation.
Step4
Jump off the ground with your forward foot when the board has gone almost completely around. Get ready to put your foot back onto the board. Guide the board with your back foot. Control it from flipping over with the edge of your foot moving across the grip tape. Keep your body centered above the board the entire duration of the trick.
Step5
Set your front foot down on the board as the skateboard lands, and roll away in the "fakie" position. Fakie is when you skate in your regular stance but your board is rolling backward.
