This is a new variation on the freestyle kick flip where you flip the board into a backside 180 while at the same time turning your body into a backside 180. You'll begin this rolling forward, but the skateboarding trick will finish off in the fakie position.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get up to a medium speed. Roll forward. Get your feet in the ollie position with your back foot slightly toward the toe side of your board's tail. In other words, you want to be prepared to tap the tail in your heel side direction at the same time you pop the board up. Keep your center of gravity above the board the entire time.

  2. Step 2

Pop up the board's tail. Tap it toward your heel side, which is how you get your skateboard to start rotating in its 180. Now your forward foot is going to do a lot of work. The front foot drags up your board while at the same time you flick it to get it flipping. You do this by extending out your foot with your flick.

  3. Step 3

Follow the skateboard's path with your body. As the board does its 180, you turn into yours. Keep your body centered over the board even while you aren't touching it.

  4. Step 4

Lower your forward foot into position to catch the board as you complete the 180. Your back foot should be following the tail of the board to trap it and stop its spin. Your front foot catches while the back foot guides.

  5. Step 5

Land the trick. Your body swings around at the same moment your board does. Stop the board's rotation with the back foot and step on with the front, landing solidly on the pavement.
