Make Easy Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting

This easy-to-make chocolate frosting will cover an 8-inch, round layer cake.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 6-oz. bag semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 6-oz. Bag Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • Groceries
  • Double Boilers
  • Kitchen Knives Or Spatula
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Stirring Spoons
  • Mixing bowls
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  1. Step 1

    Boil water in a double boiler or in the microwave.

  2. Step 2

    Melt the chocolate in the top of the double boiler or in a bowl placed over the heated water.

  3. Step 3

    Allow chocolate to cool slightly.

  4. Step 4

    Stir in sour cream and salt.

  5. Step 5

    Frost the top of one cake layer.

  6. Step 6

    Put the second layer on top of the first.

  7. Step 7

    Frost the top and sides of the cake.

Tips & Warnings
  • Let cake cool before frosting. Icing may not set if put on a warm cake.
