Things You'll Need:
- Fabric Protection Sprays
- Bow Tie And Cummerbund Sets
- Neckties
- Tie Racks
-
Step 1
Treat your ties with a specialized fabric protection spray before wearing.
-
Step 2
Avoid tie-threatening situations, such as open soup bowls, ketchup or mustard packets, and babies.
-
Step 3
Remove the tie by unknotting it rather than slipping it over your head.
-
Step 4
Store ties by loosely rolling them rather than hanging them. You'll avoid wrinkles with rolled ties, whereas hanging ties can leave creases.

on 2/1/2006 Buy a stylish tie clip, not only will this protect your tie from the soup bowl, but it will also look smart.

on 11/22/2005 If you want to protect your tie, put it inside your shirt at the first button under the knot. People will still see your tie and it won't get stained. After dinner you can quietly pull it back out!

on 11/22/2005 Rather than throwing your tie over your shoulder, which may be inappropriate in certain social settings, try unfolding a napkin or hankerchief and tucking it in your shirt collar like a bib to prevent getting food stains on your silk tie.
