Things You'll Need:
- Mirrors
- Blush
- Blush Brush
-
Step 1
Consider blush colors that match the color of your cheeks after an aerobic workout. Such shades mimic your natural coloring and help you avoid having cheeks that look painted or artificial.
-
Step 2
Head to a department store and have a makeup artist assist you in finding a complementary shade. Check your options in natural lighting whenever possible.
-
Step 3
Remember, the darker your skin tone, the darker your blush should be. Women with fair complexions usually look best in pink or coral shades, while darker complexions are enhanced by wine or burgundy hues.
-
Step 4
Keep daytime blush light in tone. Opt for a heavier application to create a more dramatic evening look.
-
Step 5
Match the undertones in your lipstick to the color of your blush. If your lips are red, opt for a pink or reddish cheek color. For pink or rose-colored lips, opt for similar hues in your blush color.

on 6/30/2006 Pretty much everyone should stick to blush that has a little pink or coral in it. Brown tones, while popular, are not really flattering- we're drawn to them because we think they're natural, but think about it- do you blush brown? Of course not! If that made us look better Mother Nature would have done it long ago (natural selection and all that). Brown and yellow toned lipstick are in the same category, only worse because they make your teeth look more yellow! Think I'm kidding? Look at tooth-whitening ads- the models all have pink lipstick. Go to the makeup department and try a few shades on the inside of your wrist and then try the one you like on. Be sure the lipstick is sanitized first!

on 11/22/2005 If you have light to medium blonde hair, and light skin with pinkish undertones, then pink may be your color. Try all different shades of pink and hold them up to your face. If the color makes your face appear brighter, choose that one. If you hold up a color and it makes your face appear darker and shadowed, pull away from that color and go for a lighter shade.

on 11/22/2005 If you tap the blush before applying it on your cheeks, you put less. It is better to put less than more. You can always build up more. Try the Lancome collection of blushes.

on 11/22/2005 Always opt for a slightly lighter color than normal because the grease in your skin can help you out by making it a shade darker.
