I put my dirty rubber bath mat and dirty plastic shower curtain in the kitchen sink. I then filled the sink with warm water, Clorox bleach, and liquid detergent. I let them soak for one hour, and then I rinsed them off, and hung them up to air dry. They were spotless, as clean as new. -

For rugs that the door pushes up, or you trip up, or just for the Elderly that are scared of tripping on them: Get sticky velcro. Apply one end to the back of the floor where you want the rug to stay. Apply the other end of the sticky velcro to the back of the bath mat. Worked great for my elderly friend.
