- Carpet Beaters
- Carpet Shampoos
- Vacuum Cleaners
- Hairbrush
- Vacuum cleaners

Step 1
Vacuum rugs regularly.

Step 2
Remove spots and stains immediately.

Step 3
Stroke the rug fibers with a hairbrush or lift with fingers gently to lift pile.

Step 4
Hang rugs outside once a month, and shake or beat out dust and dirt using a carpet beater.

Step 5
Have rugs professionally cleaned once a year.

on 11/22/2005 Pet stains, Remember urine stains are difficult to remove from wool and silk. Never use chlorine bleach(it disolves wool fiber) Seek out an established professional and get their advice before using anything stonger than cold water. on 11/22/2005 Rotate the rug every so often if there is direct sunlight through a window on it. This will help to keep the colors even in the event of fading.

on 11/22/2005 If you sprinkle some dry salt onto your Oriental rug, leave it for five minutes then brush it out, it will bring back the shine of the colors.
