  • Furniture Polishes
  • Neutral Cleaners
  • Soft Cloth
  • Sponges
  • Soft Cloth
  • Oil Soaps
  • Buckets
  • Tarps
  • Sponges
  1. Step 1

    Spray the surface of the table with a cleaning fluid for routine cleaning. Use a neutral cleaner for synthetic materials; use oil soap for wood. Wipe the table dry with a soft towel. For deeper cleaning, read on.

  2. Step 2

    Lay a plastic tarp on the floor around the table.

  3. Step 3

    Prepare a solution of neutral cleaner (for synthetic materials) or oil soap (for wood). The product label should give guidelines about mixing proportions.

  4. Step 4

    Use a sponge to apply the cleaning solution to the table surface. Wipe with the grain of the surface material.

  5. Step 5

    Wring the sponge out over an empty bucket.

  6. Step 6

    Use the sponge to wipe the cleaning solution off the table, and wring the sponge out periodically over the bucket.

  7. Step 7

    Immediately wipe the surface dry with a soft terry cloth towel.

Tips & Warnings
  • If cleaning doesn't fully restore your table's shine, polish it again with a standard furniture polish.
