    • Sodium Hypochlorite
    • Liquid Bleach
    • Stiff-bristled Cleaning Brushes
    • Tile Cleaners
    • Old Toothbrushes
    • Rubber Gloves
    • Grout Coloring Agents

        Remove as much mildew as possible by spraying the area with tile cleaner and scrubbing with a toothbrush or stiff-bristled brush.

        Squirt persistent mildew with a solution of commercial bleach and water (1 part bleach to 10 parts water is usually effective).

        Leave the room and allow the solution to work for 5 to 10 minutes.

        Return and rinse with water.

    • If, despite your efforts, mildew remains on your tiles, consider purchasing a commercial mildew remover containing sodium hypochlorite and sodium carbonate, or try a grout coloring agent to hide stains.
