    • Give yourself a budget and try to stick to it. Remember that you'll need maternity clothes for a only few months.

    • You'll feel more comfortable in your usual style of dress. If you don't normally wear ruffles or clothes with teddy bears, don't start now.

    • Be wary of overzealous saleswomen at high-end maternity stores.

In the UK, cravematernity.co.uk have a high quality range of maternity clothes. I went to a recent wedding for one of my best friends and was saved by a Crave dress, did not make me feel frumpy at all. Other maternity retailers offer similar garments, but Crave does have good prices.

There's a new store in the US called H&M. Stylish well fitting maternity clothing at great prices. No goofy stretch panels, clothing can be worn from early to post pregnancy. Why aren't the American companies that thoughtful???
