Things You'll Need:
- brussels sprouts
- Groceries
- Saucepans
- Vegetable Steamers
- Saucepans

Step 1
Place brussels sprouts in a bowl of lukewarm water.

Soak them for 10 minutes to get rid of any sand or insects in the leaves.

Step 3
Rinse the sprouts thoroughly.

Step 4
Cut off the stems, but not so much that the leaves fall off.

Step 5
Cut a small X into the base of each sprout to allow the core to cook thoroughly.

Step 6
Boil brussels sprouts for 7 to 10 minutes.

Step 7
Steam brussels sprouts for about 5 minutes.

Step 8
Microwave brussels sprouts, with a little water, for 5 to 8 minutes.

Step 9
Try brussels sprouts with maple butter - a good way to tame their bitterness. Brussels sprouts are also tasty with mustard butter.

Step 10
Finely chop cooked brussels sprouts and toss them with cooked pasta or add them to omelettes or frittatas.

on 12/18/2008 hey if you think i should try it and see if it comes out just right and maybe u guys can realize what cooking is all about.... brussel sprouts may be yucky for you all but i think it is a good veggie to try it in the microwave oven. as my mother would say if you don't like the taste of it then try to hold your nose to like them!
