How to Store Grapefruit

Grapefruit is a great source of Vitamin C.

Things You'll Need:

  • Brown Sugars
  • Maple Syrups Organic
  • Honey
  1. Step 1

    If storing for a short time, leave grapefruit at room temperature.

  2. Step 2

    If storing longer, chill immediately in the refrigerator crisper for up to 6-8 weeks.

  3. Step 3

    Allow to warm to room temperature before eating.

Tips & Warnings
  • Grapefruit are juicier at room temperature than when cold.
  • Add brown sugar, maple syrup or honey to grapefruit halves to make them sweeter.
  • You can use grapefruit juice in place of orange or lemon juice for almost any recipe.
  • Watch out for seeds, because even if called "seedless," grapefruit may contain a few seeds.

on 10/23/2008 The white membrane on grapefruit and the white pulp on the skin contain loads of fiber. Grapefruit skin-pulp and membrane provide more fiber to the diet that the fruit provides Vitamin C. So, be wise. Eat the whole fruit!

sections on cookie sheet and
freeze until solid. Then put
sections in a ziploc bag until
ready to use. Remove, let thaw
and enjoy grapefruit anytime.
