Rabbits generally make healthy pets, though certain breeds have a high chance of developing uterine cancer. Spaying rabbits will decrease the risk of uterine disease.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Prevent uterine disease by having your pet rabbits spayed.

  2. Step 2

Have females spayed at sexual maturity, which is usually around four months of age.

  3. Step 3

Have males neutered before puberty, which takes place around four to eight months of age.

  4. Step 4

Keep in mind that spaying and neutering rabbits also controls overpopulation and destructive or aggressive behavior, which heightens at sexual maturity.
