on 4/25/2008 MythBusters proved that the baking soda trick is in fact a MYTH,it was Arm & Hammer that said to do this to increase their sales, and in fact it did. I have been doing it for years until I saw the episode of MythBusters that proved it to be a hoax.

on 11/22/2005 Be sure to keep an open box of baking soda in your freezer to absorb odors. If you don't, your bread could absorb them and taste bad after thawing.

on 11/22/2005 It's easier to leave the bread in its original plastic wrap and suck all the air out, then wrap in foil. You won't get any freezer frost on your bread.
