Step 1
Stash foods in plastic food containers and close lids tightly to prevent contents from crumbling. As a further precaution against leaks, seal the plastic containers in plastic freezer bags.
-
Step 2
Transport beverages in plastic beverage bottles. Thermoses might leak and glass bottles might break.
-
Step 3
Fill up a backpack with the food and beverages and zip up tightly.

on 9/25/2008 We pack a cooler with picnic stuff and leave it in the car. At lunchtime and/or dinnertime, we have a tailgate in the parking lot. Lots of fun, good food, and a break oftentimes needed.

on 9/25/2008 We pack a cooler with great picnic stuff and leave it in the car and have a tailgate in the parking lot at lunchtime or dinnertime. It works great. Sometimes you need a break at that time anyway.

on 1/26/2006 Simply tell the person checking your bag that you are hypoglycemic, which means that if you don't keep your blood sugar up you are likely to pass out or go into a coma. They cannot prevent you from bringing food in in that case, and you don't have to hide it. This might not work if you are hugely fat (as hypoglycemics tend toward thinness), so in that case tell them you are diabetic. But you might want to bring along fruit and trail mix instead of chips and beef jerky, in that case.

on 11/22/2005 When going to an amusement park that doesn't allow food, girls can avoid confiscation of their snacks by hiding food in a tampon box. Just be sure to get in the bag check line that's run by a young guy and you're home free. As soon as he sees the box he'll send you on your way.
