How to Make Omelettes

Things You'll Need

  • Beaten Eggs
  • A Warm Glass Of Milk
  • Baking Powder
  • Pat Of Butter

Instructions

    • 1

      Separate four eggs.

    • 2

      In a bowl, combine 1/4 cup milk, a tsp. baking powder and four egg yolks. Set aside.

      Beat the four egg whites until just stiff.

    • 4

      Fold the whites and the yolk/milk mixture together.

    • 5

      Turn the stove burner on to Medium.

    • 6

      Pour mixture into a buttered omelet pan or skillet.

    • 7

      Put pan on stove.

    • 8

      When egg mixture begins to set, place cheese or other fillings in the center.

    • 9

      When omelet appears almost done, fold in half, leaving the fillings in the center.

    • 10

      Serve hot.

Tips & Warnings

  • Egg whites are easily whipped with a hand mixer.

  • Other good omelet fillings are chopped ham, mushrooms and/or cooked spinach.

  • If omelet appears to be burning on the bottom, reduce heat.

  • Don't mix the whites and yolks together vigorously. Fold them together carefully.
