Ask your date about the event: Will you need park clothes, beachwear, an urban dinner outfit or rock-climbing gear?

Aim for middle ground for date one. Neutral colors, classic styles and great accessories are always comfortable, especially if you don't know your destination.

on 11/27/2009 ok pet peeve - women that show up to a date wearing an outfit they would wear to the office. dress like you are going on a 'date' - and lets all be honest - that means it should be chic and with a little sexiness to it - guys are visual creatures - and if you show up completely conservatively dressed - it bores the heck out of a guy - you want to catch this guys interest right? but you keep thinking - i don't want to look like a **** right? there is a fine line between looking attractive and like a woman - and a **** - but for sure don't come dressed in clothes his best guy buddy would also wear! - my opinion too - leave the jeans at home - throw on a dress..

on 9/11/2008 Having a first date with a man who is a wealthy world traveler who speaks 5 languages. Meeting at a resort hotel near my home for cocktails and dinner. I need to go shopping for an outfit because I don't have a very extensive wardrobe. I want to look sexy yet classy at the same time. Not sure what to wear. Anybody got any suggestions?
