Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Begin with good speed at the bottom of a steep, vertical wave that has a lip ready to break.

  2. Step 2

Before you turn up the face of the wave, be sure your feet are set solidly, that you are well balanced and that you have a good sense of the board under you.

  3. Step 3

Crouch down a little at the knees and waist.

  4. Step 4

Turn hard up the face of the wave and keep your speed.

  5. Step 5

Just before your board hits the lip of the wave, rotate your shoulders forward into the heart of the wave.

  6. Step 6

Snap your board around to follow your shoulders.

  7. Step 7

As you come off the lip and catapult down the wave face, get your center of balance over your board and prepare to execute a turn at the bottom of the wave.

  8. Step 8

    Practice, practice, practice.
