You don't have to journey to the local nail place to pamper your hands. Do it yourself at home.
Massage your hands. Use a moisturizing lotion. Use an exfoliating lotion if your skin is dry and/or roughened.

on 3/5/2008 If you plan on polishing your nails when you're finished with the manicure, do NOT soak them in water at all. Our technology with our cuticle creams are so advanced that they will soften your cuticles without having to soak them in water.
By soaking your nails in water, your nail tends to expand a little bit. Once it's dry, and the polish that's on it has dried, it tends to shrink back to its normal size. This causes nail polish to chip off faster.

on 6/22/2007 Never soak your nails before filing them. Soaking leaves them weak and the filing can cause damage. Switch the steps. File your nails and then soak them to soften the cuticles.

on 7/18/2006 After using lotion on your hand the nail polish won't stick, but if you use rubbing alcohol on the nails, the polish will stick. Also, if you want to clean under your nails beforehand, put some alcohol on a Q-tip to clean and sanitize under your nail.

on 6/30/2006 Invest in a nail polish Corrector Pen. Avon makes them and I've seen them in WalMart and Walgreen's also. It's kind of like a felt-tip pen with a beveled tip that dispenses nail polish remover. If it ever dries out, dip it in nail polish remover and it's ready to go! Don't waste time with messy Q-tips or cotton balls.
