Triple Solitaire is a version of regular Klondike Solitaire played with three or more people. It is very fast, somewhat physical, and will usually reduce the decks of cards to tattered fragments within a dozen games.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Give one full deck of 52 cards to each player in the game. Make sure each deck has a different-colored back so you can separate the decks easily after they are mixed together.

  2. Step 2

Seat all players around a medium-sized table. Each player needs to be able to reach the center of the table without stretching.

  3. Step 3

Have each player set up his seven stacks in front of him as if he were playing a regular game of Klondike Solitaire.

  4. Step 4

Yell, "Ready, Set, Go!," to start the game.

  5. Step 5

Have all players shuffle through their respective decks three cards at a time and move cards around their stacks just as in normal solitaire, but as fast as possible.

  6. Step 6

Have them place their Aces in the middle of the table.

  7. Step 7

Let any player place cards on any Ace stack no matter whose deck the Ace came from - provided the cards are played to the Ace stacks in matching suits and ascending order (A, 1, 2, 3...).

  8. Step 8

Be sure cards are played to the Ace stacks one at a time and using only one hand.

  9. Step 9

Have the person who closes an Ace stack (plays a King on it) pick up the stack, turn it over, and set it aside.

  10. Step 10

Declare the first person to get rid of all his cards the winner.

  11. Step 11

Declare the person with the fewest cards remaining in his hand and stacks the winner if all players get stuck and can't play any more cards.

  12. Step 12

Separate the cards into individual decks and start again.

Tips & Warnings
  • Speed is the key element. Watch the Ace stacks closely and play your cards to them as soon as possible.
  • Playing with more than six people makes it difficult for players to reach the center of the table.
