How to Get Out of Trouble When Caught in School With Cell Phone

In most school systems, cell phones are not allowed. For many students, however, they are necessary. Students who are alone after school and must contact a parent need phones for emergencies. Other students take cell phones to school for social reasons--texting and calling friends. No matter why the student has a cell phone at school, it's a safe bet he wants to avoid getting in trouble over it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Turn the phone over to the principal or the administration immediately when they catch you with the phone. Cooperating with them right away shows that you are not trying to hide the cell phone and do not want to get into trouble. If you cooperate with them, they are more likely to cooperate with you.
Step2
Tell the teacher or administrator who caught you that you promise to not bring the cell phone to school anymore or that you will keep it out of sight for the remainder of the school time.
Step3
Call a parent on the school office's telephone to let them know that the cell phone has been discovered. If the cell phone was or is for emergency use, have your parent explain this to someone in charge at school who is in a position to help you stay out of trouble.
Step4
Offer to do a school announcement or write a school article about why you should not have a cell phone at school. This will help other students understand the consequences of breaking the rule and could also help you get out of trouble.
