Rolling curly hair is a little bit more difficult than rolling straight hair. To angle the rollers as you roll the hair is an important step to remember in the process.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Rollers
  • Clips
  1. Step 1

Divide the hair from the back into 2 halves on the head.

  2. Step 2

Comb out a small amount of hair on one side of the head at the top.

  3. Step 3

Roll the hair tightly toward you onto the roller, making sure to angle it upward as you roll. Pull the hair to get all the bumps and curls out so that it goes onto the roller flat, straight and even.

  4. Step 4

Place a clip on each side of the roller to keep the hair in place.

  5. Step 5

Comb out another small section of hair directly underneath the previous roller. Roll this section of hair exactly as you did the previous section. Make sure to get the roller directly underneath so that the two rollers are touching.

  6. Step 6

Continue to roll the hair until the entire one side is rolled out into a line down the back of the head.

  7. Step 7

Roll out the other side of the head just as you did the first side.

  8. Step 8

Take the hair at the sides of the head by the face and roll them out next. When you are done, you should have four lines of rollers around the head; two on each side.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is okay if you have more rollers on one side or row than another. You could have more hair on one side of the head than the other.
