Bring the pet food to the animal shelter. Make sure that you pick a time when the shelter will be open. Pet food left outside may attract wild animals that can introduce disease to the captive-bred animals living in the shelter.

Get proof of your donation for tax purposes if needed. Have them write out the brand, weight of each bag and quantity on a piece of paper. You can then attach the receipt from the store to the proof of donation.
